THE 27th ANNUAL
GROVE CITY HIGH SCHOOL
MARCHING BAND INVITATIONAL
Dear Director:
This is just a friendly reminder that on Saturday, September 27, 2008, the Grove City High School Band Boosters will sponsor their 27th annual marching band contest. We are working closely with local media and other businesses to ensure the year’s event is the best ever!! The first band will take the field at approximately
4:00pm for what should prove to be an exciting day of outstanding performances.
Our contest is an OMEA qualifying event. There will be many trophies awarded, including individual awards
for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place bands in each class and the Grand Champion. In addition there will also be
cash prizes for the winners of each class ($100.00) and the Grand Champion ($200.00).
Some of the outstanding features of our contest include:
• Newer stadium including nice restrooms and seating for 8000 guests
• Great adjudication panel, including many judges from past State OMEA finals panels
• Great hospitality facilities for directors and bus drivers, including refreshments
• Friendly band hosts and qualified medical staff
• Equipment transportation assistance provided by boosters upon request
• Rear field gates available for Flag Corp and show prop loading
We are very proud of our contest and the participation of our booster organization in providing you and
your students the opportunity to participate in what we know will be an exciting and educational event.
We encourage you to reserve a place in this year’s Grove City Invitational by completing an OMEA Local Marching Band Adjudicated Performance Application, which can be easily downloaded from the OMEA website.
