Band Scholarships

The Grove City High School Band Boosters have established several scholarship funds to assist seniors in the band as they enter their next phase of life. These scholarships are awarded at the spring concert each year. 

How to apply for the a Scholarship

Below are the six scholarships offered by the Grove City Band Boosters. You can see the requirements of each one below.  In order for you to fill out the application(s), click the blue title of the scholarship to open the Google Form; you will need to sign in using your SWCSD account. See the links below for each application. **It would be wise to type your responses the PDF document and then copy and paste them into the online application.**

**All applications must be submitted using Google Forms and be turned in by the end of the day (11:59:59pm), Saturday, May 9th. PDF applications are provided for your reference and so you have a backup copy saved on your computer should there be an issue with your submission. It would be wise to type answers on the PDF first, and then copy/paste to the Google form.**

For those scholarships which request solo and ensemble information, below are links to an Excel Document or a Google Sheets template...you may use EITHER file to record your history at solo and ensemble, both are provided for ease of access. You MUST save the spreadsheet as a PDF and attach it to the applications that request it. You will be able to upload the file within the Google Form. 

The deadline for all scholarship applications is May 9, 2020 by 11:59:59pm.

George Edge Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for a student who will study music at an accredited college and who has participated in the music program at Grove City High School.

Grove City Band Boosters Scholarships

These non-renewable scholarships awarded by the Grove City High School Band Boosters go to a number of graduating senior band members. Any graduating band members who have been in the Grove City High School Band program for at least three (3) years and are in good standing as of the date of application are eligible to apply. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be planning to attend a school of higher learning in the fall following graduation.

The applicant's intended field of study and financial need are not factors in awarding this scholarship.

F. David Smucker Musical Studies Award

This scholarship is for a student who will study music at an accredited college and who has participated in the music program at Grove City High School.

James Voyles / Grove City Elks Club Scholarship Award

This scholarship is open to any graduating Grove City High School band member who has displayed outstanding musicianship, dedication, and discipline during their years with the Grove City Bands. This scholarship is given for musical excellence and commitment to the Grove City Band Program. Applicants do not need to be majoring or minoring in music as a prerequisite to applying.

Grove City Band Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any graduating Grove City High School band member who will study at an accredited college and who have participated in the band program at GCHS all 4 years.   **Majoring in music is not required**

The Troy Lannutti "What a Friend" Scholarship

*NEW for 2020* This scholarship is open to any graduating senior who has been accepted into a accredited institution next year. Your chosen field of study is not a requirement for this award; any senior is welcome to apply. This non-renewable scholarship is for a student whom displays the following criteria.

(a) Befriends and assists members in the band who might be struggling in some way.
(b) Demonstrates a passion for the band through hard work and taking on additional responsibilities.
(c) Has an obvious passion for music.

This scholarship is awarded in memory of our friend and fellow GCHS band mate, Troy Joseph Lannutti. **Majoring in music is not required**
