All About Uniforms

Students are required to be dressed appropriately and in full uniform for all performances and while in uniform are representing themselves, the Grove City High School Band Program/Music Department/Directors, Grove City High School and the Grove City community. 

Students will be issued a GCHS Marching Band uniform during pre-band camp week. All school-issued uniforms are the property of Grove City High School Band. These uniforms are costly and must be well taken care of; parents/students are responsible for the full current day replacement cost of their uniform should it not be returned or has been damaged beyond repair. 

Student/Parent/Guardian Responsibility & Care

  • Uniforms are to go home following every performance so they can be aired out or dry cleaned (toss a fresh fabric softener sheet in your garment bag to help keep uniforms smelling fresh).
  • Keep uniform in a presentable, clean and well-maintained state
    • Keep dry, take home & hang up between performances
    • Dry clean regularly and when visibly soiled
  • Report on time for performances with complete uniform as instructed by directors via the event itinerary
    • Uniform chair or designee will report any missing essentials per student to the directors at each performance
  • Return uniforms in the same condition as they were issued if a new size is required or students time with the band is complete
    • Dry cleaning with receipt is required prior to any return or uniform exchange
    • Items returned at the end of your students' time in the band:
      • Complete marching band uniforms (Friday Night and Contest), Red Concert Jacket, Hat, Beanie, Hat Bag, Garment Bag, Navy Concert Skirt.

Uniform Fees

Items purchased from the boosters during Rookie Days Camp will be able to be used for the duration of their time in the band. (These items are also available for purchase throughout the season by contacting the uniform chair and at designated times prior to each performance)

WIND INSTRUMENT STUDENTS Total costs (subject to change) = $127 and includes:

  • Summer Uniform shirt ($23)
  • White Marching Shoes ($47)
  • Marching Uniform Gloves ($5)
  • Marching Uniform Suspenders ($8)
  • Marching Uniform Shoulder Cords ($34)
  • Poncho ($10)

PERCUSSION STUDENTS Total costs (subject to change) = $88 and includes:

  • Summer Uniform Shirt ($23)
  • White Marching Shoes ($47)
  • Marching Uniform Suspenders ($8)
  • Poncho ($10)

*Percussion marching uniforms do not require Gloves or Cords

GUARD MEMBERS Total costs (subject to change) = $33 and includes

  • Summer Uniform Shirt ($23)
  • Poncho ($10)
  • Other items communicated via the coaches/guard trustee

Freshman and new band members will be fitted for shoes and be able to purchase the above items during Rookie Camp (see band calendar; Rookie Camp is the Thursday and Friday the first week after school is out). Payment will be via CutTime and listed as Rookie Day Summer Uniform Fees. (Cash or check are also acceptable) Items will not be issued until the payment is received. The shoes will be used for both summer and marching uniforms.

Additional uniform items purchased from the store of your choice:

  • Approved plain white golf/Bermuda style shorts with belt loops
  • No short shorts or denim shorts, 5-9" depending on the height of student
  • Plain white crew length socks with no logo
  • Black belt (no decorative items)
  • Red wrist bands (percussion only)
